ECMWF Routing
A private maritime weather-routing and forecasting tool. It processes meteorological and route data, and uses Google Drive to exchange operational input and generated forecast files.
ECMWF Routing is a private maritime weather-routing and forecasting tool operated by Frostwaypoint. It processes meteorological data (ECMWF ensemble forecasts and official tropical-cyclone advisories) together with vessel route data, and produces passage forecasts, timelines and route risk assessments for one vessel's operational use.
What it does
- ingests published ECMWF ensemble forecast data and official marine advisories;
- assembles the active route and projects the passage timeline from the vessel's reported position;
- generates forecast and routing products for the passage ahead.
How it uses Google Drive
The tool uses Google Drive to exchange its operational files: it reads the operational input it is given (vessel position and route selection) and writes the forecast and routing files it generates. Nothing else in the account is part of the workflow. The details are set out in the privacy policy.
Who it is for
The service is intended for private operational use. It is not a public service and has no user accounts; it is operated by the same Master Mariner behind this site. Questions: [email protected].
